Brims Construction were appointed as main contractor on the Sick Children Trust’s “Home from Home” provisions. The building offers sleeping and shared living accommodation for families of children receiving treatment in hospital. The ethos of the “Home from Home” is that it should offer respite from the hospital wards and a supportive, relaxing and low-stress environment for families. This facility provides 19 bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms of varying sizes, shared living, kitchen, dining and children’s play areas as well as associated spaces such as staff offices, a laundry and a meeting room that can double up as a work “from home” space for parents staying in the building.
