Brims Construction were appointed to deliver the refurbishment of the existing Security Search Area and balcony approach on Level 2 of the terminal building at Newcastle Airport. The works were phased and staged to enable the search area to continue in operation throughout the duration of the works, avoiding peak times such as school holidays.
This scheme involved the creation of a vibrant and contemporary interior, complemented by the installation of advanced CT scanners. The primary goal was to cultivate an airport environment that significantly influences passengers’ perceptions and satisfaction, reinforcing the airport’s reputation as a traveller friendly destination. The upgraded lighting and modern design elements completely transform the space, with the overall refurbishment enhancing clarity, simplifying navigation through security procedures.
