Welcome to The Housing Innovation and Construction Skills Academy (HICSA) project. From this angle you can appreciate all 45,000 Sq. ft of the buildings and the sheer scale of the project we are currently delivering.
Located in the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious regeneration sites – Riverside Sunderland the project involves the full restoration of a derelict engine shed and construction of a new ground-breaking training base. The buildings are going to be linked, the new building will be large enough to accommodate a full-size building, classrooms and open plan workshops.
We are expecting to complete in summer 2025, HICSA will provide ‘next generation skills for next generation homes’ and support Sunderland College’s ambitions working with young people and adults to ensure they are able to install new technologies and construct homes of the future.
