In January 2023, Brims Construction were appointed to deliver the internal and external refurbishment of a two-storey office building in Newcastle Upon Tyne, on behalf of the Global Underwater Hub.
The purpose of the building is to act as a Global Hub for Underwater Technology. The facility will also serve as a multi-purpose event and TV studio, with the hosting of industry events coordinated by the Global Underwater Hub.
The scheme comprised of the strip out and internal fit out of two floors of an existing office building. Works included the removal of existing internal demountable partitions, suspended ceilings and floor finishes. The office was completely designed and refurbished, also including the toilets, stairwell and canteen. New ceilings, partitions, finishes and furniture were included as and when required to suit the proposed design.
In addition, we completed works to the HVAC system, design, supply and installation of TV and audio and repairs to the external fabric of the building and external landscaped areas. Provision of new car parking was also included.
