The Links Retail Development, Blyth

Blyth

Brims Construction were appointed to undertake the construction of a new retail development on the South-East outskirts of the town of Blyth on former agricultural land. Blagdon Estates first secured permission for the two-storey development at Blyth’s South Beach back in July 2021, following substantial residential development in the South Blyth area, which has seen hundreds of new homes built in the last decade.

The Shell Development retail units involved the construction of 16,000sq.ft  of lettable space split into 8 individual  retail units to shell only standard. The buildings were constructed with a steel frame, beams and columns. The walls were constructed using concrete blocks, bricks and cladding.

The scope of works included associated groundworks, roof construction, mechanical and electrical installation, joinery, decoration and external works. Associated site works, drainage, incoming services and Section 278 works were also completed.

The first tenants to move into the development were bakery giant Greggs and beauty salon Shorelocks. Other tenants have also agreed letting deals, including Prudhoe based Italian coffee house Caffe Ginevra.
