Brims Construction were appointed as main contractor on the refurbishment works at the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle. The project involved the construction of a new mezzanine floor to the existing school and an internal refurbishment. Some elements of the construction were carried out during the school summer holidays, but the school remained operational during the majority of the works. The works comprised of internal demolitions, substructure and the erection of steelwork. Further works included the construction of partitions, doors, fixtures and fittings, as well as mechanical and electrical services installations.
