Demonstrating Leadership in Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility.
Sunderland Based Brims Construction is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious ISO14001 UKAS accreditation, marking a significant achievement in the company’s commitment to environmental management, carbon reduction and sustainability, uplifting our previous accreditation to UKAS standard. Pictured above are the Project Team at our HICSA scheme, who were instrumental in helping us achieve the accreditation.
ISO14001 is an internationally recognised standard that sets out criteria for an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). The certification, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), demonstrates that Brims meets the highest standards in reducing its environmental impact, improving resource efficiency and operating in an eco-friendly manner.
Achieving the accreditation is the result of months of dedication, collaboration and commitment to sustainable practices across all areas of our business.
The UKAS-accredited ISO 14001 certification means Brims has not only met stringent environmental regulations but has also implemented processes that will drive even greater sustainability performance in the future.
Jason Wood, Director Responsible for Health, Safety and Environment said “We are incredibly proud to have achieved IS014001 with UKAS. This milestone reflects our proactive approach to environmental responsibility and our determination to minimise our carbon footprint. It reaffirms out commitment to sustainability, which is a core value at Brims. ”
George Peverley SHEQ Manager for Brims added “The upgrade of the 14001 Accreditation to a UKAS body offers numerous benefits to Brims, including enhanced efficiency and reduced waste. It also strengthens our position as a trusted, environmentally responsible business for our clients and partners.
With the accreditation in place, Brims will continue to focus on carbon reduction and sustainability, aiming to be net zero by 2050. Brims commitment to ISO 14001 standards ensures that our operations will consistently align with global best practices for environmental management.”
Brims also maintains accreditations to ISO45001 UKAS certification, ISO 9001 UKAS certification and Constructionline Gold level. We have recently completed the Achillies UVDB Silver Plus accreditation, provided by Achillies, a global supply chain risk management company and are please to report that we passed the assessment and are now an accredited provider. The Silver Plus level involves more detailed assessments of processes and performance, particularly in areas such as health & safety, environmental sustainability and quality management.
