We have started the £3.9m project at St John The Baptist, to refurbish the SEN department and construct 2 new build extensions.
Our works consist of some demolition and the removal of doors, frame, floor coverings, ceilings and asbestos by our licenced subcontractor. All new windows will be replaced with new modern glazing for energy saving purposes for the client.
All mechanical and electrical items are to be removed and replaced with new, including, radiators, pipework, WCs, sinks, air source heat pumps and lights, sockets, switches, hearing loops, fire alarm systems, door access and CCTV.
These new builds will give the school more classroom space and accommodate the Special Educational Needs within the school.
We are also renewing the school’s car park, including the removal of the current surface and realigning the layout, on completion this will consist of 22no new permeable paved car parking bays, altered kerb lines to aid access around the area for the children.
Newly formed accessible ramps will be installed to allow children and staff to move more freely around the playground areas, these areas will be created with new soft surfacing areas and will have bright colours and playground equipment to help with the children’s development.
We have built a great relationship with Kerry Coe (Headteacher of St Johns) she is very pleased with how the works have begun and progressed so far. Kerry is a great client to work alongside, very understanding of the work required to make this project a success and we look forward to the continued positive relationship.
